Easy oven baked barbecue pork chops!
In this post we’re making oven baked barbecue pork chops. This recipe is super easy to whip up, and these barbecue pork chops are perfect during the busy week. It takes very little time to prepare these pork chops, and the cooking time is approximately 40 minutes.
For this recipe I used bone in pork chops, that is my preference. However you can use boneless pork chops. Also this recipe works great with pork steaks! I’ve made oven barbecue pork steaks several times, and they come out terrific!
To season my oven baked pork chops, I used my homemade barbecue rub- which is pretty amazing! If you want, you can use a store bought barbecue seasoning( it won’t be as good as my homemade rub though! LOL!)
Again, this recipe is super easy. Try it out for yourself, and leave me a comment down below

You do some amazing cooking,, I mean you cook from scratch also. What can’t you cook?
My daughter loves your fried cabbage so much, sometimes it’s all that she wants. There was a time when she would never eat cabbage. I think I cook about five heads of cabbage per month now.
I need a recipe for stuffed shrimp with real crabmeat and I want to do a lemon coconut cake. Let me know if you plan on doing either of those please.
Thank you and keep up the excellent work.
Hi Tasha. The recipes requested wouldn’t be done until after the holidays 🙂
I don’t see the barbecue seasoning rub recipe anywhere

I keep seeing that you have a homemade BBQ seasoning/rub for the pork chops but I can’t find it. Can you please tell me what that it?
Hi Emily the recipe is here
I tried this last night with chicken wings. My 17 year old told me it was the bomb and has already requested this again. Thanks for another great recipe!!
Thank you for trying my recipe!
I omitted the onions, because we aren’t too keen on onions. Even without… the pork chops turned out great. Definitely a recipe to keep.
Thanks for giving it a try!

My husband loves onions, but I am unable to eat them. So, I plan to make the pork chops and keep the onions off of mine.
Thanks Rosie!

Thanks for your review Tan! XOXO
what else can I use instead of barbecue seasoning rub?
Using something else will change the recipe.
My husband and friends say I am a disaster in the kitchen. In fact, my husband does 99% of the cooking. Tonight he didn’t feel good so I said I would cook. Terrified I am sure, he said alright. I found your recipe for the baked barbecue pork chops and homemade rub. I followed the directions exactly and was nervous because I really shouldn’t be allowed in a kitchen. They were wonderful! My husband has never liked anything I made but he raved over our dinner tonight! Thank you so much for a great meal!!!
Oh wow Misty!!! I am so glad that you liked my recipe!! I hope that you try more of my recipes! XOXO
Just cooked this for my wife. It is Amazing!
Rosie after a long day yesterday all I wanted was the comfort of home and a home cooked meal. I looked online for something simple to fix
and stumbled (or was it Devine Intervention?..) for your BBQ Baked Pork Chops….oh my goodness did that recipe fit the bill!
I also used the bbq rub on some sweet potato wedges and roasted them along side on a baking sheet. Ah this meal just soothed my tired soul.
Thank you for all of your work and effort on this site… it made a difference in my life last night..
I look forward to trying more of your recipes!
Hi Nora! Thank you for your comment. It’s always nice to hear from my readers! XOXO
Hey Rosie, I’m about to make these pork chops, i really wanted ribs but they didn’t have any so I got these thick cut pork chops, not the super chunky huge ones but the regular thick cut…will this be fine?? I know the cooking time will change but will these be ok for the receipe? Im sorry if it’s a stupid question…just want to make sure
Yes, thick chops will work! XOXO
I thank God for you! I am learning my way around the kitchen because of you. I am a newlywed and my hubby loves to eat!
Congrats on getting married! I have a ton of recipes to choose from. Let me know if you have any questions!
Can i use aluminum foil pan and what do u oil the pan with ?
Yes, you can use an aluminum pan. Oil with vegetable oil.
Hello! This is the best oven baked BBQ pork chops recipe I have seen! Can I marinade the pork in the rub for more than one day?
Hi there! Absolutely! XOXO
This is hands down the best oven BBQ pork steak I have ever had. It was so tender I could cut it with a fork. I made your BBQ spice rub it is so good! Since I am allergic to cayenne pepper and had no paprika, so I just substituted them both with Chipotle chili powder. Gave me the heat and smokiness needed for it. I used Pork Shoulder Steaks. My family loved it. I loved it. A keeper for sure.
So glad that you liked the recipe!
Hi Rosie!
i tried your recipe as I was in a bind for ideas. I followed it to the letter (except ,I added 1 can of crushed pineapple on top of the onions). It was a hit with the kids but I believe the extra juices from the pineapple thinned out the BBQ sauce too much. Next time I’m following your recipe and I’m sure it will be Amazing! Thanks for the recipe!.
Hi John! Maybe pineapple rings next time. One ring per chop ! XOXO
Tried your BBQ pork chops tonight, yummy!! I prepared them using your rub recipe as well. I paired it with corn bread and steamed string beans. I have some rub left over, thinking of trying it with chicken, any thoughts on that?
Hi Donna! I’m glad that you liked the recipe! Yes, it would be great on chicken as well! XOXO
Hi Rosie! My husband bought a package of bone in pork shoulder steaks and challenged me to cook them! After a lengthy search, I stumbled across your recipe! I followed it to the letter, including the dry rub, and it was amazing! My 10 and 17 year old boys both ate three helpings and said “super delicious “! Hubby loved it also! Thanks for a super delicious recipe, it’s a keeper!
Hi Andrea! I’m glad that you all enjoyed the recipe! XOXO
Can i cover the baking pan with foil while baking it?
Absolutely!
Best pork chops ever! Better than the ones I’ve made in my crockpot. Absolutely delicious and tender. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks so much for trying my recipe Elle!
Just made these and they look delicious!!!
YAY!!! So glad that you liked the recipe Vinny!
Following this recipe exactly and it sure smells good! Can’t wait to eat it!!! Serving with corn on the cob and potato salad!!!
Yumm!! That sounds like an amazing dinner!
This recipe is a keeper—-these chops were delicious! Thanks!
OMG the best oven baked BBQ pork chops ever,my boyfriend wants these every week, thank you
Thanks for trying Linda!
I am going to try this for memorial day
These turned out great! However, my husband was upset because they were baked in their own grease. He refused to eat them, so I had to freeze them. He’s diabetic and trys to stay away from meats cooked in their on juices unless absolutley necessary. Next time I use the recipe I will put them on racks.
Thanks for this wonderful recipe!
Amazing! Your BBQ rub is delicious, wish I would of made more.
So happy to find you & this recipe Rosie.
This smells amazing! Serving this with Trader Joe’s coleslaw & mashed cauliflower! Yum!
This recipe makes so much sense. Trying it tonight, because I bought a 2 lb. pork shoulder blade chop and I had no clue what to do with it!
These were delicious and very simple. The barbecue rub made the difference. I didn’t have an onion but it was still very flavorful.
Such an awesome recipe. I’m an amateur cook myself. I followed the recipe and surprised myself. I used pork steaks instead and used Lowry seasoning and it came out awesome. Thanks
Hi Rosie,
This is the second recipe I have tried of yours
(Grandma’s peach pie was the other recipe I tried) and both recipes worked beautifully. I followed this recipe exactly and it came out fantastic. I have never baked such tender and juicy pork chops before. Thank you for sharing!
TOTALLY AWESOME! This is hands-down the best recipe for oven-baked pork chops! The sauce is AMAZING!
Making this tonight! Read every comment and i just have one question, does this make for good leftovers?
I make dinner regular time because I have kids but my boyfriend doesn’t get home from work till around midnight, So he microwaves his dinner. Would this be good for that?
Absolutely! Leftovers are just amazing. XOXO
