Alright, y’all, get ready to take a trip down memory lane—with a twist! Remember those days when you’d save up all your pocket change just to buy a bag of Sour Patch Kids? Well, honey, we’re about to turn those sweet and sour memories into an adult-only adventure with this fun and festive recipe: Sour Patch Kids Infused Everclear! This ain’t your mama’s lemonade, folks—this is a grown-up treat that’ll make you pucker up in the best way possible.

Green and blue moonshine in separate jars set atop three jars filled with yellow, red and orange moonshine. Sour Patch Kids lay in a heap nearby.

How to Make Sour Patch Kids Moonshine

Ingredients

1.75-liter bottle of Everclear – Everclear is a brand of grain alcohol, known for its incredibly high alcohol content. It is typically made from corn or other grains, and it is one of the most potent spirits available on the market.

Five 8.5 oz mason jars – A classic look, perfect for serving or gifting)

1-pound bag of Sour Patch Kids candy – The stars of the show)

Instructions

1. Separate the Sour Patch Kids by Color:

Begin by sorting the Sour Patch Kids candy into separate plastic cups based on their color. For example, place all the yellow candies in one cup, the blue in another, and so on. This step will ensure that each mason jar contains a distinct flavor.

2. Prepare the Mason Jars:

Once the candies have been sorted by color, place each color group into a separate mason jar. Ensure that each jar is filled with only one color of candy to achieve a uniform flavor profile for each infusion.

3. Add Everclear:

Carefully pour the Everclear into each mason jar, filling them to the brim. Ensure that the candies are fully submerged in the alcohol, as this will allow for maximum flavor extraction.

4. Shake the Jars:

Secure the lids tightly on each mason jar and shake vigorously to combine the Everclear with the candy. This initial agitation helps to dissolve the outer coating of the Sour Patch Kids, releasing their flavors into the alcohol.

5. Infusion Period:

Store the jars in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight. Allow the mixture to infuse for a minimum of 24 hours. For a more intense flavor, consider extending the infusion period up to one week. Shake the jars periodically during this time to ensure even distribution of flavor.

6. Strain the Infused Liquor:

After the desired infusion period, strain the liquid through a cheesecloth to remove any remaining candy particles. This step will help achieve a clear, smooth final product.

7. Return Liquor to Jars:

Once strained, pour the infused liquor back into the mason jars. Ensure the jars are clean before refilling to maintain the clarity and quality of the infused Everclear.

8. Chill and Serve:

Refrigerate the jars to chill the liquor before serving. The infused Everclear can be enjoyed straight, over ice, or used as a unique ingredient in cocktails. Enjoy responsibly.

Ingredients

  • 1.75- liter bottle of Everclear
  • Five 8.5 oz mason jars
  • 1- pound bag of Sour Patch Kids candy

Instructions

  • To create a fun and unique Sour Patch Kids-infused Everclear, begin by sorting a 1-pound bag of Sour Patch Kids candy by color, placing each color into separate plastic cups. This will ensure that each flavor remains distinct throughout the infusion process.
  • Once the candies are sorted, prepare five 8.5 oz mason jars by placing each color of Sour Patch Kids into its own jar. This step is important to maintain a uniform flavor profile for each jar.
  • Next, carefully pour Everclear into each mason jar until the candies are fully submerged and the jars are filled to the top. The alcohol should completely cover the candies to allow for maximum flavor extraction.
  • After adding the Everclear, securely close the lids on each mason jar and shake vigorously. This shaking helps to dissolve the candy’s outer coating, allowing their flavors to blend with the alcohol more effectively.
  • Place the jars in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight. Allow the mixture to infuse for at least 24 hours. For a more intense flavor, consider extending the infusion period up to one week, shaking the jars occasionally during this time to ensure even distribution of flavor.
  • Once the infusion period is complete, strain the liquid through a cheesecloth to remove any remaining candy particles. This process will help achieve a clear, smooth final product.
  • After straining, pour the infused liquor back into the clean mason jars. Ensure the jars are clean before refilling to maintain the clarity and quality of the infused Everclear.
  • Refrigerate the jars to chill the liquor before serving. The infused Everclear can be enjoyed straight, over ice, or used as a unique ingredient in cocktails. Remember to enjoy responsibly.
