Hello, I have to say first off I enjoy your blog and especially the recipes, they are so good and easy for the nonprofessional cook. I have a question about The Poor Man Rice I have all of the ingredients except sesame oil, can a substitute like EVOO or vegetable oil? I hate to buy things for a specific recipe that I will barely use? Keep the recipes coming
    Thanks, Cynthia

Hi Cynthia! The sesame seed oil, adds flavor. If you’re not crazy, or don’t think you need it, you can leave it out completely. XOXO

Rosie, I love your recipes! In this one I can’t find the garlic powder in the list of ingredients. Don’t know how much to use.

Made this on tonight. I should have cooked the vegetables a little longer before adding the ground beef, other than that everything was good. I will add some soy sauce next time.
