Homemade Ice Cream Made Without a Machine!

Hi friends! I’ve been getting a ton of requests for Homemade Ice Cream recipes, and I think it’s about time that I start answering them. The timing couldn’t be more right – The weather is warm (at least over here in the Northwest), and who doesn’t like ice cream on a nice warm day – or any day for that matter?

For those of you who are about to break out the ice cream machines, let me stop you right there – because we won’t be needing them! The homemade ice cream that I will be showing you how to make in this post doesn’t require an ice cream machine!

A close up of a scoop of melting vanilla ice cream topped with rainbow sprinkles and two bright red cherries.

A lot of people automatically think that you NEED an ice cream machine to make ice cream, and that is completely false! The only “machine” that I used to make this homemade ice cream was my handheld mixer.

If you don’t have a handheld mixer, you can still make this recipe, but you will need to do a lot of mixing!

A scoop of chocolate homemade ice cream topped with rainbow sprinkles and a single cherry served in a glass dish.

So, I’ve already told you that you don’t need an ice cream maker for this ice cream, but guess what else? This homemade ice cream takes only 3 ingredients to make! Like seriously, it doesn’t get any easier! Anyone, including a child, could make this ice cream.

Two cherries and rainbow sprinkles garnish scoops of soft vanilla Homemade Ice Cream!

The homemade ice cream that I’m about to show you how to make is super simple. In this post, I’ll show you how to make chocolate & vanilla Homemade Ice Cream, but in future posts we will cover different flavors.
