- 2 1/2 lbs of collard greens
- 2 smoked turkey legs
- 1 medium white onion chopped
- 2 large sliced jalapeno peppers
- 1 tsp of minced or chopped garlic
- 1/2 tsp of seasoning salt
- 15 oz of chicken broth
- 6 cups of water
Start off by boiling your smoked turkey legs in 6 cups of water for 30-35 minutes.
When the turkey is done remove the meat from the water( save it, don't toss the water!)
Remove the meat from the bone, then place the meat back into the pot.
Now add your onions, jalapenos, garlic, and collards. Stir the ingredients.
Add the seasoning salt, then the chicken broth. Stir.
Cover the put with the lid, and cook on low medium heat for about 45 minutes.
Be sure to stir periodically to prevent burning.
Serve!
