A Delicious Recipe for BBQ Meatloaf Meatballs!
Many years ago, when I first started my blog, I shared a recipe for BBQ meatloaf meatballs. A lot of my readers loved the recipe. Still, to this very day, I have no idea how the recipe was deleted from my blog (just like my original smothered potatoes recipe). Seriously, I have no clue what happened to it; however, I am back with my new revised BBQ meatloaf meatballs recipe, and I just know that you’re going to love this one even more than the other.

These BBQ meatloaf meatballs are extremely easy to make, and they are budget friendly. All you need is some cheap ground beef, chopped onions, bell peppers, and a few more ingredients, and you’re good to go.

There are a ton of side dishes that you can serve with these BBQ meatloaf meatballs, but my family loves to eat these flavorful meatloaf meatballs with either mashed potatoes or rice and green beans!

- 2 medium eggs
- 1 large bell pepper diced
- 1 medium yellow or white onion diced
- 5 cloves garlic minced
- 2/3 cup plain bread crumbs
- 4 stalks green onion chopped
- 1/8 bunch parsley chopped
- 2 tsp seasoning salt
- 1 tsp coarse black pepper
- 3 tbsp BBQ sauce
PLUS
- 1-1/2 cup BBQ sauce to cover the meatballs
Optional
- parsley for garnishing
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl add in the ground beef, eggs, onions, bell peppers, minced garlic, parsley, plain bread crumbs, 3 tbsp BBQ sauce, seasoning salt, and black pepper.
- Mix the ingredients until well combined, then form the mixture into balls.
- Lightly oil, or spray your bake dish with nonstick spray.
- Add in the meatballs, then bake on 350 F. for 15 minutes or so.
- Remove the meatballs from the oven, and drain the grease from the dish.
- Now drizzle the remaining BBQ sauce all over the meatballs.
- Place bake into the oven for about 10 minutes, uncovered, then scoop the bbq sauce onto the meatballs.
- Place the BBQ meatloaf meatballs back into the oven for another 10 minutes, then remove.
- *Optional – Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley on top.
- Serve & enjoy!
Video won’t play. Do you really put minced garlic in the meatballs? You have minced garlic listed in ingredients but not added in the instructions. Likewise you have BBQ sauce listed in the instructions but not in the ingredient list (other than the 3 tbsp). Please review and fix this as I think it sounds yummy if fixed as intended. Thanks:)
I fixed it. Sorry!
Where is the amount of bbq sauce? It only calls for 3 tablespoons, then later says rest of the sauce.
I fixed the recipe.
Hi Rosie,
I just wanted to know, if I use ground turkey what other seasonings should I use i’m new to the ground turkey family and it’s kinda bland to me
If using ground turkey, you may want to add maybe 1 tbsp of olive oil, or vegetable oil to keep int moist. 🙂
LOL! I’m so glad you posted this. I’ve been eating lots of meatballs for the past week. I’ve been getting them from the freezer section of my local grocery store – but there is an gamey-off-taste in them. I’m thinking I should try homemade. I’m going to get some almond flour to sub for the bread crumbs. I’ll let you know how it comes out! Thanks for this post!
How much BBQ sauce is needed? It’s missing from the ingredients list.
I fixed it 🙂
This look soo delish! Mmmm, hearty bbq, have to make this!
I love your I Heart Recipes . Great inspirations.
Just a note (freely delete this comment afterwards), the recipe does not say how much BBQ sauce. I was attempting to watch the video, but there is an error (232404 via computer and 224003 via iphone) and I was unable to watch it. I am guessing it isn’t a big deal because it is BBQ sauce and is there such a thing as too much? LOL! Cooking it now, so I will rate it later. 😀
I LOVE your recipes!!!
Fixing it now. So sorry!
This sounds wonderful! I have been trying new things to roast in bbq sauce but never thought of meatballs
